Back to work. I figured I would start with my Christmas ornaments first to keep history from repeating itself. Last year I stupidly waited until the last day of the summer sale that Handy Hands had and ended up waiting a couple of months for white thread to come back in stock. When I run out this year I`ll beat the rush for thread and have a large supply of Christmas ornaments ready for sale.
Stocking up my lace work for the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design`s gallery shop. The candle ornament returned this year as it became a popular choice with the gift shops that carry my products. This is just one of the many ornaments that are available for purchase at the gallery shop this season.
One of the ideas I have been working on for the last couple of years is to create a clothing product using tatting. When people see tatting they often refer to it as crochet. This gave me the idea to come up with an item that easily shows the difference between the two. I have created a scarf that is crocheted with the edging and motifs tatted in yarn. The scarf is warm and stylish making it perfect for the upcoming cool weather.
